How do I know if my company is ready for predictive analytics?
You are ready when your descriptive reporting is trusted, you have consistent historical data covering enough time, the outcome you want to predict is clearly defined and someone will act on the predictions. If reports still disagree, fix that first.
Readiness checklist:
- Reliable data from the relevant systems
- Sufficient history, ideally covering seasonal cycles
- A clear business decision linked to the prediction
- Skills to build and maintain the model
- A plan to measure whether it works
Starting with simple trend or seasonal forecasts is a low-risk way to test appetite. If you are unsure, a short data audit can tell you whether history, quality and ownership are good enough yet.
