How much does a business dashboard project typically cost?
Costs depend on the number of data sources, data quality, number of dashboards and who builds it. As a general guide, a simple single-source dashboard may cost a few thousand US dollars, while a multi-source warehouse with modelled data and several dashboards can run into the tens of thousands.
The biggest cost driver is usually not the dashboard itself but the data work behind it: connecting systems, cleaning, reconciling definitions and building a reliable model.
Other factors:
- Number and complexity of source systems
- How messy the existing data is
- Software licences, which differ widely between tools
- Training and documentation
Get a written scope and fixed price where possible, and ask what ongoing costs follow launch.
